TUSC Academy

Academy U9-U10

The purpose of the Academy Program is to provide competitive training for U9-U10 player. We aim to introduce the basic principles required at the next level – Competitive Soccer. These sessions will provide a feel for what competitive soccer holds for our promising little athletes. The transition will be progressive with technical drills that focus on key components such as dribbling with speed & control, passing with accuracy & strength, and the confidence of 1v1 play.

The Academy will play in the Legion FC D-League. Players may take this opportunity to train with the likes of competitive coaches who are able to evaluate an individual’s current skill-set and advise those enrolled for the near future. This may be a chance to simply get an extra day of quality training for you to take advantage of and further enhance your abilities on your current team.

We encourage those who aim to compete at the competitive level one day to take part. We will aim to have separate sessions for boys & girls depending on participation. All sessions will be held at the Trussville United Soccer Complex.  All participants will need soccer cleats, soccer shin-guards, and a size 4 soccer ball.

TUSC Competitive

Competitive U9-U19

Our competitive teams compete against others in the Alabama Soccer Association state league at either the Division I or Division II level. The overriding focus of our club is player development. The difference with the competitive program in comparison with the recreational and intramural programs, is what is expected of the player and what the player expects while playing at the “State Level”. Because of the increase in competition, the competitive program entails a greater financial and time commitment. Each competitive team is coached by a licensed competitive staff coach.

Games are played at the TUSC complex, other parks in the Birmingham area, and potentially in Montgomery, Huntsville, and Tuscaloosa. Most games are scheduled on weekends, but occasionally games may be played during the week. Teams will practice 3 nights per week with their coach. These teams generally participate in 2-3 tournaments per season and provides approximately 8 state league games throughout the season.
